The title 'The Cornfield' was a reference to Constable's, 'The Cornfield'. In Constable's painting the small boy is drinking from a stream here he has run into the uncut corn and not noticed the approaching combine harvester.

'The Cornfield- Free Gift Inside' features very briefly on the 'BBC's Culture Show' in 2006. It was to do with a contemporary issue about the commercialisation of 'Constable Country'. (8.30 minutes in).
