Nansen sledge made from gold picture frames in the Antarctic. The project was part of the British Antarctic Survey's Artist's and Writer's Programme. The frames were shipped to the Rothera Research Station where the sledge was built.

If the first skidoo falls through a snow bridge covering a crevasse then the following sledge and skidoo should be able to stop the first skidoo falling further down the crevass

The sledge was flown further South from 'Rothera' to British Antarctic Survey's refuelling depot, 'Sky Blu'. From there it was taken on a short journey into nowhere.
