In 2008-9 I was selected for the British Antarctic Survey's Artist's and Writer's Programme.' This was a three and a half month research and development residency in the Antarctic and Sub-Antarctic. As part of the research I built a 12 foot long nansen sledge made from gold picture frames. On my return, Arts Council England funded the further development of this research into a body of work for an exhibtion at Art Exchange- University of Essex- 2010. This work also formed part of the solo exhibtion at And Model gallery, Leeds -2014. There is also a performance lecture 'Antarctica' which is my account of my experince trying to be a contemporary artist in residence in this very unusual context.
