Revolutionary Reminder was an event happening concurrently whilst 'Remnants of Utopia' was on at Art Exchange. Funded by the arts council it consisted of a 7 and half tonne hire truck that was driven to different locations in the area. On board was a grand piano and pianist who would give a short recital of Russian revolutionary music at each stop. Covered in a revolutionary banner the truck was a contemporary interpretation of an Agitprop truck.
As part of this project I was commissioned to make a film to play as background for the recitals. One of the locations was the University of Essex home of the 'Art Exchange' gallery.
The film was also used within the exhibition, projected onto the wall by a pico projector mounted on the back of a toy lorry. The second toy lorry carries the sound. These were a loose interpretation of the type of Heath Robinson type trucks used by the Soviet Union as propaganda vehicles.
