​A long with the various plastic animals and toy vehicles, I found a series of 'Players' Polar Exploration cards. I think this set of cigarette collectors cards date from the 1920's and included this one depicting Ernest Shackleton's Pole attempt in 1909. The team reached the Magentic pole and was the furthest south until the Scott, Amundsen expeditions two years later.
